The future is rooted in tradition

Innovative energy and vision Xaver Haas laid the foundation for the HAAS Group when he acquired a carpentry shop in 1971. He gradually built up the group from this base. He initially concentrated on timber construction projects and the production of wooden silos for the agricultural market. With innovative energy, an uncanny feel for the market and sound business judgment, he judiciously expanded the product portfolio and introduced new technology. The Gang Nail nailplates, which revolutionized the production and installation of roofs and agricultural buildings, represented a milestone. The first HAAS prefab house, which was shipped in 1973, was based on this technology.
The roots of the HAAS dynasty go back a long way Franz Xaver Haas achieved the grade of master carpenter in 1930 and then went out on his own. His business was mainly focused on the agricultural sector. His son Xaver Haas, who was born in 1949 and is now CEO, learned the carpenter’s trade at his father’s company. He became Germany’s youngest master carpenter in 1969, and that was the start of a successful business career. |
