Data Protection Policy
You can print this information by clicking “Print page” at the bottom.
Data protection policy Thank you for visiting us on the Internet and for your interest in our company and the products and services we provide. We take data protection very seriously and want you to feel comfortable when visiting our Web site. All data that we collect from you when you visit our Web site is treated in strict accordance with the relevant legislation, in particular the German Data Protection Act and the German Telemedia Act.
What do we do with your personal data? There are a number of areas on our Web site where we offer you the option of contacting us or using specific services. The personal data we receive at this time is used only for the purpose for which it was transferred. No data is transferred to third parties.
What is meant by personal data? Personal data is information that allows us to uniquely identify you. Examples of personal data include your legal name, address and phone number. Information that does not reveal your true identity (e.g. browser bookmarks, number of visitors of a Web page) is not regarded as personal data. (Refer to the section below entitled "What data is logged when I visit your Web site?".)
What kind of data is collected? Where our Internet content offers the option of entering personal or business data such as e-mail addresses, names, and addresses, the entry of such data by the user is on an expressly voluntary basis. The use of all services offered is also permitted – as far as technically possible and reasonable – without the user having to provide such data and/or anonymous data or an alias. Correctly entering all data (including optional data), however, gives us the opportunity to serve you on an individual basis.
Are all e-mails and contact form data treated with confidentiality? Should you decide to contact us via e-mail or a contact form, we would like to point out that we cannot guarantee that the information transferred will always be treated with confidentiality. E-mails, for example, could be intercepted and read by third parties. Therefore, we recommend that you use postal mail service to send us any information you deem confidential.
What data is logged when I visit your Web site? Every time a user accesses one of our Web pages or downloads a file, a log file containing the following information is saved to our server: - IP address
- Page from which the file was requested
- Date, time
- Browser and browser settings used
- Operating system
- The page you visited
- Amount of data transferred
- Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
This data is then used for statistical purposes so that we can further improve our Web site. You can only be uniquely identified if you log on to our site directly or access our site from a personalized Web page. No data (including excerpts) is transferred to third parties.
Do you use cookies? Yes, our site makes use of cookies, however data is saved for the current session only. Cookies save you time by eliminating the need to manually reenter your personal data when completing various online forms. All cookies are automatically deleted from your computer when you close your browser.
Most browsers are configured to automatically accept cookies. If you do not like this setting, you can deactivate it or change it so that you are notified every time a cookie is sent to your browser.
If you decide to deactivate cookies, you will be identified via a session ID when you access our Web site. No data will be saved on your computer during this time and the session ID will be deleted when you end the session.
Do I have any control over how my data is used? It goes without saying that you are in complete control as to if and how we may use your data. You can also determine if we are allowed to use your data for consulting, advertising, and market research purposes. Here, too, your initial consent can be revoked at any time.
Is my data transferred to third parties? No. Personal data is used exclusively for internal purposes so that we may improve customer relations. Should any of your data be transferred to a third party, you will be asked in advance for your permission. Personal data is collected and transferred to the respective national institutions and authorities in strict accordance with the relevant legislation and as per court order. All of our employees and service providers are obligated not to disclose any personal information and to uphold our data protection policy.
How can I check, correct, or delete my personal data? As per paragraphs 34 and 6b of the German Data Protection Act, users are entitled to inquire about the data stored about them free of charge. Users are also legally entitled to have their data revised (corrected), made inaccessible, or deleted if so desired. Please contact us immediately in all of these cases.
Will this data protection policy be changed? We will update this data protection policy if current events – such as an amendment to the German Data Protection Act – oblige us to do so. |
